"She is blessed with a crystal clear delivery - country twang included - that should get her on stage on the Grand Ole Opry some day."

-Here Comes the Flood

Like strapping a guitar to a bicycle & riding 400 miles to follow an echo…

“There’s a power and a realness in her songs that’s hard to come by. ”
— Colin Gilmore, WEST TEXAS EXHILES

Some of us are on a mission to follow the things we can’t quite name…I’m just a person who needs music.

Hey There!

My artist name is Jules Klee, a nickname from growing up that only close friends and family were allowed to call me. Thanks to the internet, somebody stole my domain “JuliaKLee.com” and wanted several thousand dollars for it.

In an attempt at continuity, I scrapped everything released under the name “Julia Klee,” because I was on a crazy long hiatus anyway. If you’re a Watch Dogs fan and you’re wondering what happened to me, I’m over here! If you’re one of the mighty few fans of Big Charade, drop me a line. I’ll send you a signed CD. Donations appreciated, cause I’m funding a new record called Roses On My Table.

“Talk,” The song from Watch Dogs, was inspired by a time when I was losing my religion. I realized I was in a cult and needed to reconcile my search for meaning within the false reality of absolute certainty. Nowadays, I lean HARD into the practice of “Who the hell knows?” (Do they? RUN!)

I’ll skip ahead to 2023. If you really want to know about 10 years of undiagnosed Lyme disease, ask me in a loud bar, but that’s when I started pick up my guitar again, and hitting up local open mics. I missed writing, a lot.

I was divorcing my best friend and parenting, trying to find my footing post-COVID, when this old me waltzed back into the room, barking, as if a careless human caretaker had forgotten to let it outside.

I’m drawn to creating Americana music, because it’s powerful. Hypnotic voices, the slow burn, soothe and bruisey sounds of analogue past are what anchor me musically.

If you’re here, I imagine categories aren’t as important to you as feeling something.

If ever we find ourselves in the same room together, I hope you’re able to keep something you didn’t expect to find — like a feather or strange apocalypse partner…

Say Hi
